We have had the pleasure of working with Gayle Fleming, owner and president
of Fleming Design, over the past six years. We were looking for
a landscape inspired by the classic Japanese garden, and we have
been very happy with the results.
Gayle's extensive experience with Japanese landscape and culture has
given our landscape an authentic look that we could not have achieved
with anyone else. His ideas are inspired by his own trips to Japan and
his knowledge of Japanese culture and horticulture. He has used a wide
variety of materials in everything from the unique dry creek that runs
through our front yard to the gardens in the back.
Although most of our work was done during the first two years, Gayle
has continued to help with ongoing refinements. He has artistically shaped
the increasingly beautiful trees in our front yard in Japanese style.

who have made his plans a practical reality. His extensive knowledge of
horticulture and soil science have allowed him to deal creatively with
problem drainage areas on our property.
